I am getting within an inch of the final form over the majority of the sculpture. I'm doing a lot of looking and re-looking at this point. I have to be cautious from here onward as, once it's carved off, you can't put it back on.
"Lemon Slice Sunrise", Indiana Limestone, 30"H x 37"W x 15"D, This sculpture is an allegory for making the best out of a bad situation. The sun rises on a new day and dissipates the darkness. A lemon gets used to make lemonade.

Don Lawler, yours is an amazing transformation of a block of limestone. My husband and I have had a tour of the Buffalo Trace distillery. Of all the distillery tours available in Kentucky, I chose Buffalo Trace because my parents used to go to Frankfort while they were students at Berea College in Berea, KY from 1937-41. They spent a year following their August 21, 1941 marriage at a Presbyterian Mission School in Frenchburg, KY. I did the math and determined that I was conceived in Kentucky (to which I attribute my love of bourbon). My guy and I travel by car between Kansas City, MO and Alexandria, VA twice a year. We stay in Lexington, KY when we go east and in Louisville, KY when we are headed west. We will stop again to see your Buffalo, have another tour, and have a sandwich at the fire station, which wasn't available yet when we were there.
